Sustainability Drinks Australia – connecting passionate people to create a better world

Sustainability Drinks Australia has become one of Australia’s most highly regarded and successful monthly events. An open invitation is extended to all who are “passionate about

sustainability” to come and mingle with like minded people and listen to a speaker share their sustainability story.

The event runs from 6-8pm on a select day of every month and the speaker presents for 10 minutes at 7pm.

This event provides an opportunity to meet other people interested in creating a more sustainable world, exchange ideas and hear different perspectives about the social and environmental challenges we face. Come and meet a wide range of passionate people who are interested in making a positive difference.

CommonSpace  – create + collaborate

CommonSpace is a shared workspace and community for entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small businesses. Dedicated desk space with fast broadband, wifi, high spec meeting rooms and full ‘corporate office’ facilities with small office costs.

CommonSpace draws it inspiration from the growing co-working style of work. The below definition explains it best.

Coworking is a style of work that involves a shared working environment, often an office, and independent activity. Unlike in a typical office environment, those coworking are usually not employed by the same organization.[1] Typically it is attractive to work-at-home professionals, independent contractors, or people who travel frequently who end up working in relative isolation.[2] Coworking is also the social gathering of a group of people who are still working independently, but who share values,[3] and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with like-minded talented people in the same space.[4][5] – ** Wikipedia

Sense of Place Eco Retreat - let nature restore your spirit and soul

This, our first project, commenced in early 2009 with the selection and purchase of 20 Acres of land, this forms stage 1 of a 300 acre land regeneration and conservation project adjoining Wombat State Forest just 10 mins north of Daylesford.

We designed the most eco friendly retreat we could, using Ecologically Sustainable Design principals, considering the environment and natural habitat every step of the way.

The retreat features a small smart eco friendly residence, 5 luxury eco tents with ensuites, a communal hub made from recycled shipping containers, campfires and right on the edge of our stunning natural environment.

King Lake Ranges School Camp - Rebuilding Green

This rebuilding of Kinglake Ranges Wilderness Camp, as Australias most sustainable camp, was developed and successfully delivered in response to the camp being destroyed by the devastating ‘Black Saturday’ bush fires on Saturday 6 February 2009.

The camps sector identified the need for a leadership program that addressed environmental and sustainability as well as community leadership. In conjunction with the camp owners and operators and the National Camps Association we set about developing a program and curriculum which can be implemented in camps across the country.

Stage one construction is now complete and opened March 2011 after fundraising secured almost $2Mil toward the re-building works. Watch the time elapse.

Pop-Up Organic – Planning Phase

For many years Geoff developed and operated businesses in the Hospitality and Retail sectors, which has lead to the development of a ‘Pop-up’ style eco friendly organic café and store, but it’s much more than just that.

The outstanding and innovatively designed kiosks have been created with a number of basic aspects, which were visioned prior to development.

The concept had to be…

> Innovative in its design
> Eco Friendly in every way
> Pop-Up or Modular construction
> Fun, Engaging and promotes sustainability in the community

Keep your eye out for them “popping-up” soon.

Community Sustainability Centre – Funding phase

We imagined and designed a Community Sustainability Centre where you can have your environmental impact checked, your carbon emissions weighed and you are able to get professional advice and support on green building, sustainable business practices, energy and water reduction, swap shower heads and light globes and much more.

This is cutting edge design, a portable and modular facility aimed at local councils that links the local council and the community with regard to environmental and sustainability based information, issues and activities.

We are now inviting ‘Expressions of Interest’ from local councils who want to provide one of these sustainability centres in their local area.
